Jameis, officially it is your team now (1 Viewer)

Yep. Winston is the Guy for the next two years. The Saints offense should be exciting next year.

Unlike last offseason, te Saints offense appears to have a clear vision. Last camp was very muddy water.

It was unrealistic to have a fluid offense in the regular season when the QB battle between Winston and Taysom lasted until almost late August.

We don’t have a first next year, and the front office has given you a couple of key pieces to improve the offence.

Make the best out of it.
He was always going to br the starter this year. The Saints could still draft a QB. I’ve like the draft thus far

Bit premature given we still have a 2nd round pick but this 1st round would indicate they believe Winston is a guy they can compete for championships with. And yet, his contract says the complete opposite. Confusing.

His contract reflects the deal they could make. It has nothing to deal w8th what Winston deserves or how they perceive his potential. It is in their interest to pay as little as they have to and they did and that is all there is to it.

They were not going to give him 35m per year just because they liked him.

He's contract works for both sides. Why would he want a long-term deal at 14 mil a tear with 20 guaranteed?

there isn't a qb that is better than Winston in this draft so why waste a 2nd round pick on a backup? the Saints need to see if he can lead this team before sinking a ton of capital in him. if he can show that he can run this offense then you can be sure that the Saints will reward him with a bigger contract.
