NFL Patriots released LB Ja'Whaun Bentley

Schefter is reporting that the Patriots are expected to release Ja'Whaun Bentley. The probably made that announcement to try and generate some trade interest. They are switching away from the defense we are switching to and Bentley is someone we should either trade for, claim or sign as a FA. He's only 28 and will play the season at 29. He's a highly productive veteran LB and could be DD's replacement.

Yeah, with his gap and a half scheme, I think he does want more sideline to sideline guys since the NT and 4i guys will be keeping the O-lineman from reaching the 2nd level.

Bentley won't be available long.

I want the team to stop being bullied, it's embarrassing.

September 25, 2024: The New England Patriots placed LB Ja'whaun Bentley on IR.

They are switching to a 4-3 away from the 3-4 under BB and Mayo. It's why were were able to trade for Godchaux.

He was in jured last year (Torn Pectoral in week 2)

I’m sure they assess all released players to see if they will fit the scheme etc

He's an inside backer and I feel we have plenty of those types. We need depth behind Granderson and Young. Foskey is literally it.
