Top Saints HC candidate beat Derek Carr by 50 points in college as QB

One of the top New Orleans Saints head coach candidates actually faced Derek Carr as a QB in college and came out on top by 50 points:

Kellen Moore actually went up against Derek Carr in College and his team absolutely whooped him!!
Not saying it will have any bearing on his decision with who to start at QB but was an interesting article.

Not saying it will have any bearing on his decision with who to start at QB but was an interesting article.

It just occurred to me that if we hire Moore, our HC will only be 3 years older than our QB. Moore turns 37 in July and Carr is 34 in March.

Makes sense... Fresno St's defense was trash the entire time he was there. I just looked it up and their D was ranked 108th out of 120 teams in college FB his soph. year.... and like 85th in his senior year

Kellen's Boise State teams were nuts. Like, they had all the earmarks of a classic spoiler team, but won way more than they should've been capable of.

I remember his final year at Boise talking heads saying that Moore was made to be a coach more than a player at the next level.

Aging myself here, I remember AOL message boards posters and media people saying the same thing about Steve Sarkesian (now HC at Texas) when Steve was leaving BYU.

Let’s hope it proves true for Moore.

Moore if signed would be the youngest coach in franchise history. 7 years younger than Payton when he was signed in 06 at 43.

Tyler was the guy we drafted in 2016. He was ok but underwhelming for us.

I vaguely remember that QB (David Fales)... had a decent NFL career as a 2nd/3rd string QB. Didn't actually play that much though.

BSU was really good at that time and had all the pundits debating if they or TCU should be ranked higher for NCG consideration.
