kicking is 90% mental (2 Viewers)

Thought the same thing. Nuts level of pressure. Long FG, but my hopes that he was money were dashed.

A 55 yard fieldgoal, no matter the field conditions is doable for a professional kicker.
Not going for it was like telling Grupe " I don't believe in you son".
I think Grupe got in his own head after that.
That was in the 3rd quarter? If so, that would have been into the wind.

In the dome, I'd bet DA would have kicked it.

We kicked off for the start of the 3rd so we had the choice of which way to go so we may have had the wind

I'm not certain but I recall the announcers saying GB had won the toss and deferred. And, the wind really was blowing pretty hard at kickoff.

An NFL kicker should not miss a 46 yd fg with the game on the line...I no longer have confidence in Groupe until he proves he can hit a game tying or winning FG over 45 yards.

This was always the question mark when you go with an unknown. You can't simulate an environment like what he experienced today while being under tremendous pressure.

Now we have to find out what he's made of and if he has a short memory.

Until you can kick a 46 yard FG you have no say in how easy or hard a kick is. I no longer have confidence in any words you put on threads. Nothing is ever automatic no matter the distance.

They did defer, that means they get the choice of kicking or receiving the 2nd half KO, when they chose to receive we got the choice of which goal to defend. I'm guess we chose to take the wind

Weather to kick the 55 yd FG is to that clear cut, First that field was crap , Deuce made several comments that the grass was very thin and players were slipping all day. It was very windy and I'm not sure if we had the wind at our backs in the 3rd qtr. Even a not-so-conservative HC with the way our D was paying would have probably punted to pin them close to the goaline and we all know DA is conservative

I thought Vilma was in the broadcast booth?

It's worth noting that Hedly pinned them on their five-yard line. We had them to around 3rd and five but couldn't stop the rest of the drive until we held on fourth in our red zone.
