The Saints tried to win that game vs the Eagles by just getting by. I am not convinced that is was the Eagles all of a sudden going from 31st ranked to 86 Bears.

Everyone was talking about Kubiak as the next head coach hire. You’re telling me that a guy who was raised on this system doesn’t have counters to the eagles approach?

And yes, I know we lost McCoy. And we had opportunities that we missed because the line didn’t hold up. But I still think they were holding back.

That game was too hyped up and if they put more on tape and open up the offense it would reveal too much.

Kubiak looks happy here and he looks committed to the Saints. I think they wanted to tone it down a bit and just get by in this game. Especially since we have the Falcons coming up this weekend.

The Falcons will try what the Eagles did and then we will hit them with the UNO reverse card!

Who Dat?!

Kubiak? Just getting by? Thats hilarious. The guy is a hard worker, very serious and dedicated to his profession. We got beat. Sometimes the other team just beats you.
Not if you’re playing the long game.

Both can be true that Kubiak wasn’t trying to just get by but he also hasn’t maxed out his offensive scheme yet and hasn’t shown what his playbook can do to the fullest.

Eagles are a very good team and simply beat Kubiak’s offense based on how Kubiak game-planned for the week. Losing McCoy in the interior impacted the way the pass and run game were called. Kubiak still showed he can make adjustments and pull off needed scoring drives. I don’t expect to see the same offensive results in the Eagles game’s quarters 1-3 against the Falcons.

your theory may hold water if it were vs an AFC team. This loss will effect playoff seeding at the minimum. I think the Eagles played like a team after taking two losses and we played like a team after two wins. They were humiliated and angry. (goes to show that determined anger overcomes the deficiencies of having a short week) I watched a lot of peoples' game breakdowns, and it showed that if there was a little more time for a play to develop then the plays would've been great. Instead we were dominated at the LOS by Philly's young and uber talented roster of Georgia players that showed up big time against our aging vets. So much so, that McCoy our best olineman was immediately injured trying to fend them off. We were going to struggle even with McCoy healthy. There were so many plays where we had three olineman turned completely around just watching the Eagles D lineman rushing to Carr. Im not going to sugar coat it. Carr wasnt even that rattled, as hes used to a totally broken oline, having been at the Raiders for 9 years. Whats truly amazing is that our oppotunistic veteran D kept us in the game, with a chance to win. We couldve stolen a win that we had no business winning.

If a coach is coasting, they should be fired. I seriously doubt he'd ever coast. Its not in his DNA. Offensive schemes are forever changing.

No way Kubiak coasts against one of the best NFC teams who carry conference standings implications. At best playcalling could’ve became conservative to not get players hurt but Saints weren’t in a position to just chill in a close game. Saints offense simply didn’t have a good day.

This. Losing McCoy certainly changed play calling too.

Just getting by?

The defense turned up the heat and created all the turnovers one would need to win a game. They played their hearts out and all anyone will remember is a play where a couple of DB's crashed into one another.

The offense went into the game with no plan for injury to interior linemen and it bit them hard. This was bad coaching and bad on Loomis' part. The team should have a couple of younger players one who can play swing tackle and one who can do G/C and are average linemen but possibly developing to be good. We don't, we have a bunch of guys we hope can develop to be average, and this is on Loomis and his terrible drafting in 2022 and 2023.
