Last 10 Super Bowl champions' records after 12 games:

2018 Patriots 9-3
2017 Eagles 10-2
2016 Patriots 10-2
2015 Broncos 10-2
2014 Patriots 9-3
2013 Seahawks 11-1
2012 Ravens 9-3
2011 Giants 6-6
2010 Packers 8-4
2009 Saints 12-0

AVERAGE RECORD: 9.4 - 2.6
STANDARD DEVIATION: 1.56 wins

So, we'd reasonably expect that a team with 8+ wins after 12 games is very much in the hunt for a championship, if recent history is any guide. We'll see who is in that group after the weekend. And, it's always important to ask who is in the 2011 Giants group, a team with a weak record that could get hot. Any thoughts on this? I would assert the Titans and the Cowboys. The latter have played poorly of late but the stats are excellent and the talent is there. That said, that's a one-in-ten deal. My money is on the frontrunners in any given season.

I guess the next question is the probabilty when having HFA, bye, etc. The giants took the long road.

Then we lost the last 3 and the media had a field day with doubts
Yep but we had it (HFA) wrapped up and ended up being the first team to win it all after losing the last three.

So...you win enough games to get into the playoffs/ You have a chance to win the superbowl.

What a revelation.
Just showing what SB champions have done through 12 games. And our current 10-2 is above pace. Of course higher seeds correlate to better performance. So a 7-5 that becomes a 10-6 likely makes the playoff but not the SB.
