So far it appears that Lattimore could have been a candidate for the IR. It's possible that his first game back could be against the Saints.
It's hard to watch his great career get off track like this.

Lattimore was always picked up for a potential postseason run and beyond. He would have had a physical when then trade was completed and the Commanders had to know the condition of his hammy.

Unfortunately, as has been mentioned, he’ll probably be nice and healthy for the game against us. 😆

You know it

Man, imagine seeing your favorite team trade significant assets for a star player, then having to go through the weekly “Will he or won’t he play” exercise for like a month, all the while your once hot team you thought was on the way to the promised land and just got its final piece is suddenly on a losing streak. Ouch. 😂

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’d rather be in their situation right now, but still, that’s gotta be a bit torturous in the short term.

Lattimore has missed a LOT of games the past few seasons, especially since CSP left. Made me wonder if there was a correlation between Latt's increased frequency and duration of injury and DA's tenure. Rumors were well-publicized that he was one of the "malcontents" in the locker room. To be fair...RUMORS! And now we've learned that Rizzi has made warm-ups mandatory, which would certainly benefit a guy like Latt.

I think it's safe to say at this point that DA and whatever was happening with the Saints had very little to do with Latt's uptick in injuries. Maybe Latt wasn't warming up or stretching properly. Maybe he's just getting older, and more prone to tweaking body parts that have always been known to have issues, going back to college days. But I think we can safely say now....dude was definitely injured, and still isn't healthy. And I think we can safely say....no doubt he'll be healthy enough to play against the Saints. Hoping MVS is the type of WR that ML has issues with. Hoping...

If I see one more..... "this is because we traded Lattimore" post in the Game Day thread.

How did he pass a physical? Are the Commanders playing it safe for the long game?
Of course, I think he's under contract for another year or two. They expect to be in the hunt for the playoffs, so adding a guy with his skill set is not a short-term thing. I'm sure they wish he was on the field already, but they have a long-term view.
