Let's assume the Saints get the "W" vs. Atlanta on MNF... (1 Viewer)

How would this affect your outlook?

In this order:

  1. I'd just be happy that the Saints clinched an opportunity to defend the SB crown
  2. Most of my thoughts would be on who we'd play as #5 seed
  3. My interest in the CAR/ATL game wouldn't change because the Panthers are horrible
That is all.

Happy that we clinched.
Happier we put the falcons back in their place.
Immediate interest in the falcons/panthers game

I'd have MORE interest in the Panthers @ Falcons game - There's no other way I could see it any differently!! I would hope for the upset, but be happy we got in regardless.

I went with unchanged, one game at a time baby. Because thats what our season is at this point, for the most part the playoffs have started for us. Sure anything can happen but even if we finnish our final two regular season games 2-0 we still will likely have to become one game road warriors to reach the superbowl this year... I believe we can do it but its a tall task for any team to pull off three straigt wins against good opponents in their home stadium. With all that said dear santa all i want for christmas is a repeat saints superbow victory! Two dat, baby.

I think the fact that ATL will have to play their starters in week 17 is gift enough for us. They don't enjoy the luxury of resting and prepping for the playoffs like we had. AND there's the added possibility of them losing, albeit very slim. I'll take it.

All i have to say is let the games be played on the field. May the best team on that day win. I will tell you how I feel after week 17.

I picked other. What I would expect is that these numbers would go up exponentially.

Especially, after the Falcons board crashes and burns.

I voted for being happy to defend. When we win on Monday night, it will force Atlanta to have to play their starters in the season finale. They could not risk losing to Carolina and possible losing the #1 seed. Anything can and does happen in games like that especially if you have players out there playing to not get hurt. Although the Ravens loss was a big blow to our #1 seed hopes, there is still a chance. Additionally, I firmly believe that the Ravens loss will serve as a wakeup call to the whole team as to what is possibly facing them down the line in the playoffs. I think they will learn from the experience and build on it heading into the playoffs. This team is tested and has demonstrated that it can perform in big games. This MNF contest will be one of the biggest games of the year. I think Atlanta will fold.

Since a win in Atlanta on Monday would secure a playoff spot, I'd finally breath again.

I would also enjoy the knowledge that we beat a team that many are predicting to make some noise in the post season.

Obviously... you don't want to know how LOSING the game would make me feel. :scared:

Good perspectives, Saintamaniac (especially in pointing out that it would FORCE the Falcons to play their starters vs. a Carolina Panthers' team that wouldn't have anything to lose). Don't see much to argue with
