We believe the process of rating videogames is to help people make informed entertainment choices and not to limit them.

Manhunt 2 was created for mature audiences and we strongly believe it should receive an M (Mature) rating, aligning it with similar content created in other forms of media. We are exploring our options with regard to the rating of Manhunt 2. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

so to be perfectly clear AO is an even stronger rating than M?

Yes it is, and most major retailers like Wal Mart, and Toysrus wont sell games with an AO rating. Rockstar is trying to get the rating changed, I hope that doesnt mean they have to remove anything. I remember what happened to The Punisher game, they had ratings problems so they made all the torture parts of the game in black and white and the camera kinda panned away when you killed them. That would suck.

as long it's as gory as the first, i don't really care.....the blood is just extra......to me, the gameplay is what's important

i gotta say i wasn't impressed with the first one, so i don't think i'll be buying this one anyways. also, the graphics look worse than a gamecube game. i love my wii, but they can do better than that.

NIMF: Manhunt 2 Delay is Victory

Bunch of idiots telling gamers what they can and cannot play. Most gamers are adults anyway. I don't want everything family oriented, they are trying to waterdown everything. It's the parents job to keep this stuff out of their kids hands.

"Even though it is the organization's mission to inform consumers as to the content in videogames, NIMF seems a little misinformed as it refers to Manhunt 2 as a "first-player shooter." The title is a third-person action game."

Idiots.

I think Microsoft should jump on this game quick and make it exclusive as an AO game. This game is no different than the movie, "Hostel". If ADULTS want to play gory, violent games then we should be able to. I know the ESRB is worried that kids will get their hands on this but if you use the same method of thinking toward porn, rated R movies, and dirty magazines; Nothing would be available!

I agree. Those movies are realistic and show real people. Horror movies, MTV, myspace, even watching the news can be more harmful to a child than playing a freaking videogame based on fictional characters in a fictional world, that can't even be mistaken for something that is real.

Looks like the ESRB has a pipe up their butt and are trying to censor everything.

"The Entertainment Software Rating Board asked D3 Publisher to immediately pull two Dark Sector game trailers the publisher said on Monday due to overly mature content. As a result, D3 has asked the gaming media to comply with the atypical appeal."
