N/S Matthew Stafford and the Rams to meet today to discuss his future with the team (55 Viewers)

I was 95% certain that Stafford would remain with the Rams when the news first dropped last week. I'm 50/50 now.

Same, I even posted that I doubted anyone would give him $90m+ guaranteed for two years.

The thing is the Rams have said they won’t trade him for less than a 1st rounder. Giants and Raiders aren’t going to give up their top 10 picks, so there’s some stuff to work through there.

Change of plans for New York.

It was all about negotiation. The Rams obviously put something on the table, and Stafford's rep rejected it. The compromise was to let him test the market for his value. The only question is if that's higher or lower than what they offered him. A 100 mil for QB with his resume and achievements is not that much. That sounds like a 2-3 year deal, which is reasonable for his age.

From the jump you can tell it was just to see where he sat from a market standpoint. I highly doubt that he would have wanted to end up on the Giants, Jets, or Browns because he has already spent most of his career on a bad team. Why would he willing go to any of those teams that are willing to mortgage their future while not even being "a QB away?" lol.
