As soon as I read about the signing, I started to look at some stats and highlights of Bills game. Granted I'm not a Bills fan, and havn't really watched them this past year. (The only games I watched of theirs was the MNF against the Browns, and their game against the jags.) This is just my quick take, week by week, on what he did this past season. If you want better insight, talk to the Bills fans roaming around on the board, they seem pretty nice and glad to answer any questions.

Week 1 vs Seahawks, had a soilid game, 2 tackles, 1 FF. Only thing I didn't like about the game was a TD he gave up. He could have had a little better positioning on the throw.

Week 2 vs Jags, Garrad only had 160 yards passing, nothing huge here.

Week 3 vs Raiders, J. Russel threw for only 150, and one of them was an 84 yrd quick slant to Higgins.

Week 4 vs Rams, Trent Green only threw for 170 to his receivers. Steven jackson had a big day catching out of the backfield. Greer did have a pick 6 in this game, but honestly was a poorly thrown pass. Props to him for hanging on to it though, and bringing it to the house.

Week 5 vs Cards, Warner had a field day, 250 yards, and a few TD tosses to Fitz, but looks like they picked on their Rookie DB most of the day.

Week 7 vs Bolts, Phillip Rivers threw for 200 yards, not too bad considering the year he had.

Week 8 vs Dolphins, Pennington had 300 yards passing, Ginn had 175 receiver ( though all the highlights showed him burning other CBs, didn't see Greer on any of them.)

Week 9 vs Jets, Favre had 200 yards passing, Greeg had another pick 6, granted Favre threw off his backfoot, Greer was reading the route near perfect.

Week 10 vs Patriots, Cassel threw for 230, mostly short routes, though early in the game Greeg got burnt by Welker on a short crossing route. Other than that, nothing big.

Week 11 vs Browns, Quinn had 185, Braylon had a lot of catches, but didn't look like Greer was on the field much. I'm not exactly sure when he suffered his injury.

As I said earlier, this all is just reading into stats. I've always thought that if the player isn't in the highlight reel, it usually is a GOOD thing.

Here is his 2008 game stats

Man i have a little more confidence in this kid.

Yea, I didn't know much about him. After reading up a bit on him, I think he'll compete for a starting job next year, depending on the MM scenario. Though I feel a release for J. David within the next week(s).

i dont think he plays alot.

maybe he is chilling with the kickers on the bench?

Honestly can't tell ya. Though from what I've read, he's started the past 2 seasons. I don't know if he plays the #2 spot or nickel though.

yes you are correct, not being on the Highlight reel is a good thing, unless its the Def highlight reel. Everyone gives major props to Asomougha and his stats are very anemic but that's because teams just don't throw to his side, which I think is a similar case to be made for Greer

Awesome stuff. So you couldn't find anything in those highlights from those other games, like the Cardinals and Chargers, where Greer was beat?

Wow, that's great if that's the case.

I hope not. I love JD in the Nickel zone.

Greer was targeted 47 times in 10 games last season. Teams didn't necessarily avoid him based on that total, but he wasn't a guy you could just pick on either.

Thanks for taking the time for this post. Have to love this board and some of the people on it. Amazing what a signing can do to change the mood around here. Thanks man.
