N/S Brett Favre files retirement papers with NFL (1 Viewer)

Hope they're done in pencil.

There should be a maximum number of times you could retire and unretire to prevent this mess from happening again. It should be called the 'Favre Rule!'

I think it is. I remember that when he "retired" the first time, there was all sorts of speculation that he hadn't actually retired and that was based on the fact that he hadn't filed papers.
^ this... it was never reported that he filed the papers with the league office any of his previous "retirements" b/c that was what everyone was waiting for to see if he actually meant he was retiring. This is the biggest step so far that he actually means it. Next is him not going to training camp in time for the 2nd to last or final preseason game.

At this point he could write the whole thing from memory.

And if the Viqueens are smart, they'll just let him do it this time.

That's how I remember it but I'm curious if he could unretire midseason if somebody should call.

My understanding was that he's never filed retirement papers with the NFL, and that once a player does so they're officially "out".

? ? ?

Tough luck that he's already used up the public goodwill with his ongoing diva performances and this years antics.
