N/S (w/VIDEO): Usain Bolt says NO WAY that Ross beats him in the 40 (1 Viewer)

Look he may be NFL fast. He may be trained to do things to beat a hand held timer. But Bolt is the fastest people to ever be on the face of the earth who rarely ever has to push himself to finish a race ahead of everyone else.

He's not Bolt, but he is a member of the US Olympic 4x400 team. https://www.google.com/amp/ftw.usat...-40-yard-dash-412-seconds-tennessee-video/amp

Closet I've ever seen by doing reaction times/splits/acceleration and such Bolt comes out at 3.96 seconds in the 40 yard dash. Bear in mind also he trains for a longer distance so his speed needs to build up over a longer distance than a short immediate up to speed. So training is slightly different. However, it's absolutely ridiculous to think an NFL player could outrun Bolt.

i think it might be more interesting than people think
Usain is a finisher - he doesn't really hit his gear until about 40 or 50
there's been plenty of races where he would have lost of it was only 40

In the 40....Ross might get him. Bolt often has bad starts, and it's his Top End that normally kills his opponents. Out the blocks and within the first 40, many men have beaten Bolt.....in many races.

His last 40, of a 100, is simply deadly.

Best approximation of Bolt's 40 time. 3.96.

Bear in mind Bolt is a sloppy runner. His starts are not always great, and his finishes you can see him pull up many times. The guy is so incredibly fast he rarely actually runs the perfect race.

https://youtu.be/o-urnlaJpOA Here he is in the Oympics setting a worlds record. A terrible start off the blocks and 20 meters of showboating, and still set a worlds record. Please. There is no way he gets beaten

Bolt runs as fast as he needs to, so if he knows it's 40 yards and not 100m, he'd still beat Ross.

Look, they just showed Christian Coleman who runs for Tennessee running a 4.12 last week, and he might not be the fastest American sprinter.

The fastest American record time is Tyson Gay with a 9.68 100m but he still lost because Bolt set a world record with 9.59 in the same race.

Ross should race the guy who ran the 4.12 before he tries to challenge Bolt.

Bolt has lost races into the 40 yard mark ... Its his top gear that separates him.

Ross is at full speed in stride 3. 40 time wise , ross wins ...

Plus bolt is getting older ...

Go to 3.50 to see the beginning of the race. This video is from the old superstars competition that used to air on ABC. Willie Gault wins the race.
He was an Olympic hurdler and world class sprinter. He was a member of the 4X100 relay team that set a WR. in the event at the 1983 World
Championships. Carl Lewis ran the anchor leg.

If this race had been 40 yds. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Vince Coleman would have beaten him soundly. Coleman had over 100 stolen
bases his first three seasons in MLB. This race shows why.

Look man, he ain't beating no Bolt!:hihi:

It wouldn't be a total blowout by any means in the 40, however; Bolt would demolish him in the 100M just like he did Jahvid Best.

FreeLap estimates Bolt’s 40-yard dash time would probably be in the 4.1 range, though a sub-4.0 time is possible.

Good example. He actually beat 'no hands' Nehemia and would explain why his burst helps him in short distances, like running bases. If you listen to the video Dan posted, they even explain the Bolt is best is in the 200, that 100 was not his forte'....or something like that. Yet he still is too much for any other person.

Still....this is Bolt, who often have bad starts, not good out of the blocks...and I still believe that he would find a way to win.lol. Dude is just other-worldly.

I definitely agree. If Bolt had to run a 40 yd. dash,he'd simply adjust his speed for that distance. I believe part of his problem with slow
starts is he's avoiding the danger of a false start which disqualifies a sprinter. He knows he can play it safe out of the blocks.
