I Believe that it won't happen until they build that rumored waterfront Arena for the Pelicans. So, maybe in 10 years, I suppose

The only problem is the distance from New Orleans to other NFL cities. That said, I can tell you that the attendance figures for the draft are not exaggerated. When I moved here in 2017, Philly hosted it—and Center City was shut down like New Orleans at Mardi Gras.

I forgot about the Jazzfest & the 500,000 attendees... but I think the city could work around it.

It would be in two different areas of the city.

I mean, we handle 1 million for Mardi Gras and we have done Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl at the same time so I'm sure it could be done.

For several reasons, it seems highly unlikely.

The NFL tends to hold the event in cities that are unlikely to ever host a Super Bowl game or more than one Super Bowl game.

And the draft coincides with Jazz Fest. There are the logistical hurdles of the city hosting two major events at one time--hotels, law enforcement, and so forth. But there's also the attention challenge. I suspect the NFL wants the event held in a city where its draft festival is unquestionably the central event taking place in the host city.

As far as the number of visitors the draft festival can attract, I can only go by the news reports. I know I have no interest in attending such an event.

And I am more than curious as to how Green Bay logistically will handle the draft festival this year--there are so many hotels and restaurants in the Green Bay area.
