Joe Horn celebrated signing a four-year, $19 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons by playing a round of golf with family members and business associates in Alpharetta, Ga., near Atlanta.
"This is my last hurrah," the 11-year veteran told sportswriter Steve Wyche of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I want to go out with a bang, not only with Georgia's Super Bowl, but also contributing to the team and this community. I want to be able to say I gave it my all and we won a championship together. It's a sweet feeling that some have experienced in the league and I want to experience it with my teammates here."
Horn said he would make an impact as a leader, make plays as a receiver and be as much of a community servant as he was in New Orleans, where he adopted the community and was one of the loudest voices clamoring for help post-Katrina.
Horn didn't tee off on the Saints after leaving although he was critical of Saints coach Sean Payton last week after being released.
