New Orleans sends a love letter to New York (1 Viewer)

Vaughn Johnson is all about love......
He does look a little bit like Vaughn Johnson. :)

What really struck me about this post (because I found it hard to navigate) was the responses on the reblogging.

"This brougth tears to my eyes."

"After Katrina I traveled down to New Orleans with some wonderful people to help clean up the terrible mess the storm left behind. Everyone we met was so lovely, resilient, and in awe to meet New Yorkers who cared about them. The destruction Sandy created is terrible, but maybe this blog will be of some comfort from people who have been there before. Love you New York."

"Nice to see people coming together like this. New York needs the support."

"Excuse me while I go through this blog and cry."

"New Orleans talking to New York. I have to say, if I can’t be in NYC right now, there is no place I would rather be than New Orleans. Because of a lot of things, but mostly because of this."

"Faith in humanity restored."

These comments brought me back to the time after Katrina when I felt I was coping with the absurdity of a destroyed world pretty well, but the discussion on the internet never gave me what I needed. (Mostly the "Should we rebuild New Orleans? I pray NO American ever has to experience that again.) It was all "facts" (true or not) and political arguement. All I wanted was someone to say" I understand" the horror you are dealing with, I admire the strength it takes to overcome it and, most importantly, it WILL eventually get better. From the comments I think this post might be giving the people of the NE what they need to hear. And it makes me glad.
BTW, It has picked up by the Atlantic, WNYC, CNN, Reuters and DefendNewOrleans.
