2025 NFL Scouting Combine (33 Viewers)

Players that I wanna see

1. Will Johnson -- Some think he is a shutdown corner.... a very rare sight in the NFL with all the athletic WRs... he would be one of my must pick at 9 instead of trading down with a good showing

2. Mason Taylor -- Wanna see how he really stacks up with the rest....

3. Kyle McCord -- want see if he has the athletic abilities to avoid sacks in the NFL
I think that McCord will rise up in the rankings after the combine.

Syracuse had some very good players last season.

40 time confirmations on Jeanty, McMillan, Will Johnson, and the edge rushers are my main concerns going in.

Want to see what Milroe and Dart do in the passing drills (and 40s as well).

Want to hear from some of these guys interview wise.

All the other underwear Olympics stuff, I mostly don’t care about. Just really hope to see a few of the guys in my bubble really pop out overall, as well as the main guys being mocked in front of us to do the same.

The kid who just won MVP for the HBCU Legacy game Trequan Thomas looks like a good late round rush linebacker.

I don't know if he'll be invited to the combine.

I honestly think Johnson is a tad over rated, think he struggles in a man scheme but could thrive in a zone scheme but true shutdown corners travel.

Me I just hope our scouting reps come away with some really good evaluations. Then we get lucky and these guys fall in our lap! We’ve got so many needs. Boy-O-Boy do we need a great draft this year to get us back on the right path. Sure would give our new coaching staff a big bounce too if several of our 2025 picks can play right away! Fingers and toes crossed 🤞

Does anyone know if there have been changes in the scouting department? The last few drafts have not been scintillating.

I don't think there's been any change to the scouting department itself, but I think having Coach Kellen Moore on over Dennis Allen will make a huge difference. It's to my understanding the way the Saints operate is that the coach makes the first few picks while the scouts try and grab the late round gems. I think the late rounds of our drafts have been pretty solid, while the big whiffs like Foskey and Penning were early on in the draft. Hopefully the change in coaching will revamp our early round strategy.

Additionally, as we shift into a retooling phase, additional draft picks should lead us to more starters. Averaged out, most teams have pretty similar odds hitting on a pick, but it's teams that trade back and acquire draft capital like Green Bay or the Rams that tend to have the most success building through the draft.
