Northwestern Oklahoma State University hires 82-year-old Jerry Glanville as Defensive Coordinator. (1 Viewer)

Wow, i would have put good money on the fact that i could have sworn he was dead…. I was just thinking last week about the time he got onto the elevator i was working as an usher at the Superdome for a Monday Night Football game in the early 90s.. he wasnt coaching, i think he was commentating on the game or something.. he took a genuine interest in me, a gawky 17 year old nobody, and was pretty engaging for the couple of minutes he was on the elevator .. Man ive been thinking for years that he was dead .

As much as I hated the Falcons back in the day, I must admit they were a fun team to watch with Glanville’s Run-n-shoot offense.

He was an innovator and doesn’t enough credit for his role in helping the game progress forward.

EDIT: I should clarify, he was more of a defensive coach, but he always liked having that aggressive offense on the other side of the ball from where his expertise was. He sanctioned it, and liked gambling on offense a lot. It very much hand his hand-prints on it even without him being the actual playcaller.

For some reason I've always liked him. Maybe it was the leaving tickets for Elvis thing. Lol

I love seeing people that age still being productive. Gives my 49 year old self hope for the future. Ha
I hear ya. I always loved him leaving
Those Tixs too. He was very entertaining back in the day. I love his quotes. My fav….

Biden is also 82 I think…

So which is the tougher job …. Defensive Coordinator at Northwestern Oklahoma State Universiry or President of the United States …

Looking at NW Oklahoma State results from this past season, it looks Glanville got the short end of the stick from the choices....LOL
