Just repurchased or reinstalled a bunch of older xbox and 360 games to see how they held up. I loved these games originally and wanted to see how they are years later

I got The May payne trilogy, The Darkness 1 and 2, Darksiders, dantes inferno, Bayonetta, AvP, Condemned:criminal origins, panzer dragoon orta and Deus EX ; Human revolution. Asuraa Wrath

Ill update as I play with thoughts or grab more older games

I played the heck out of dantes inferno many times and it still holds up as a top-notch god of war knock off. it never gets old and every time I reinstall it I love it

Asuras Wrath- bonker batton mashing god killing insanity on par with what I remember Bayonetta to be. but gets a bit repetitive at the end

Max Payne- haven't played since it came out. its held up fairly well, and obviously, bullet time was a game changer. the film noir is excellent, and the gun play is still fun. However, the maze/dream levels and maddeningly brutal

Deus Ex was also pretty awesome....shame we won't see anymore of that game

The Darkness. Man this has held up REALLY well. I wish there was a remaster or redo. The concept is great ( if the comic was a semi Venom rip off), and Mike Patton is just brilliant as the voice of the darkness. The combat is solid and the graphics are good for its time. and I completely forgot about the WW1 levels.

Old Xbox game update.
The darkness 2. Holy hell.
I have no recollection of playing this when it came out. But man did I enjoy it.
Wasn't sold on the look (not a cell shading fan, even borderland). But when it picks up and gets going it was one of the more intensely fun games I have played recently.
The story was compelling, even with the weird asylum bits and the final level in Hell. I had an absolute blast with the powers and even the gunplay is solid.
Pity we won't get a part 3.

Max Payne 3

classic. like playing a Hollywood summer block buster. Still looks great too

oof, Deus Ex Human Revolution- a mixed bag

early on its fantastic with the multiple ways to solve problems and the stealth parts being very rewarding

Then late in the game it forces you into a traditional FPS shooter, which kind of sucks if you have built your character into a more stealthy loadout ( which is A REAL problem for the bosses, where you have t play as a shooter- I went into one boss fight with nothing but a stun gun and train rifle).

It also sort of devolves into a 'find a vent to get around folks' game, and the plot starts to meander and repeat.

Dont get me started on the boss fights

Still, fun at times early on

Yeah, i loved that game…that lead me to the Dishonored series and Prey… both amazing

Did you ever play this? Looks like it’s coming to gamepass soon
