So on the side of caution he is meeting with doctors and what not and giving our extremely rare chance of making the playoffs Olave will most definitely not play another down this year. However if we manage to win 4-5 games in a row does that change the coaching staffs mind and even Olaves mind to play and have a chance at play off birth and playoff run? Thoughts?

Absolutely not.

Olave might need to retire let alone play this year. He's one more concussion away from lifelong damage if he doesn't have that already.

I don't think I've every worried as much about a player's long term health as much as I have Olave's. I wouldn't be mad if he sat this season out, sought some specialist of the matter and really consider a plan for life moving forward. It's not like he has had light concussion but these have been devastating.

If anything, he need to either seek the truth about Guardian Caps or get one of those space helmets like Wes Welker used to wear.

I hope he takes the rest of the season off. I hope the team drafts or signs a bigger reciever to be WR1 and shift him to come in on 3rd down to extend his career. The position he plays is always going to have him in danger but the more we could limit the hits he takes the better.

For me personally, I'm just not putting a timeline on it. Those are decisions for him and the doctors. If he is cleared and wants to play, then that is his call, not mine.

Likewise, even if I wanted him to come back "soon", if that same group says no, that's their call, not mine.

So either way it's "wait and see" in my opinion.

I’m sure you are a doctor who has met and assessed Olave…..or if you haven’t, maybe they are the ones that should make this call.
Fact of the matter is as much as I disagree with WhoDatdrewdat on here he is 100% correct, it’s not a question anymore of if he will show long term possible injury, he IS showing it now. Don’t ask me what that is because I can’t say. It sucks though.
