On this day 2 of the NFL draft we remember former great Saints 2nd and 3rd round draft picks.
I’ll start.
Round 2 - Pick 44
Mario Bates - RB - Arizona State
The man couldn’t crack a 1,000 rushing yards in a season, but he could get his jaw cracked.
He didn’t have a HOF career, but he didn’t have a horrible career either given his position and usage.
Rd 3 - Pick 79
Winfred Tubbs - LB- University of Texas
I really liked Tubbs until he left us in his messy exit to the 49ers. While he was here he made an All Pro team, and gave some folks hope that there could be hope at the linebacker position after the “Dome Patrol”.
