My step sons bday is tomorrow and he wants a game called battleborn. I was just looking it up and read that it's online only even for the campaign mode to played. I know games like destiny are the same way, my question to you gurus in here is there anyway it can be played without having wifi? Like maybe buying some kind of card or something for a Internet connection? He won't be using it for multiplayer much I'm assuming since he's only 7. Just looking for options since he asked about this game for months now and it looking like I may have to disappoint the lil dude if not. Thanks in advance guys

Not sure which system, Sony or Microsoft, you are talking about, but there is wired internet connections available through the console. You need an Internet service provider, of course, but you don't have to have wifi. Someone else could probably give you a better, in-depth explanation, but I just wanted you to know you don't have to have a wifi router to enjoy internet with either console.

Battleborn will require a constant internet connection to play both online and single-player, publisher 2K Games confirmed.
Originally reported by VideoGamer, 2K also provided IGN with a statement, saying the reason for requiring an internet connection is so "experience points earned in Battleborn's Story Mode carry over to Multiplayer and vice-versa."

There's no card or device that you can attach that will allow him to circumvent having an Internet connection. Wired or wireless, it appears he's going to need it.

To piggy back off of Stephen, if you don't have a wireless router, you can create a wired connection in any room in your house with something like this:

I recommend a powerline adapter as well. I use it for my PS4 because the wifi connection was insufficient.

Ah ok yes I guess I'm basically asking is if I need a internet provider to have Internet, so I'm assuming there is no other way around that?

You can make an arrangement with your neighbor to borrow/steal his wifi, or you can use your phone as a hotspot, although at that point, you may as well just get internet.

just get him Ratchet and Clank

way better than that Battleborn garbage
