Not if they want Bryce Young to actually develop. Putting him through a 3rd straight new HC and offensive system in his first 3 years would be insane.

You have to give Canales credit. He took a cast off Baker Mayfield and had him at 9th in passing yards, 7th in TD passes and 12th in QB rating. They made the playoffs and even won in the wildcard round. On a team that was expected to not make any noise at all.

Will he have the same success in Carolina? I guess we'll see.

I don't know what Canales was thinking. He took a job with a potential lame duck HC and turned his performance into an HC job elsewhere. He probably should have stayed as QB coach in Seattle.

Putting your #1 pick through 3 systems like a turnstile at the start of his rookie deal is team sabotage at that point. Won’t attract quality HCs by running through 3 of them in 3 years either.

I don't know if he'll get fired within a year, but surely it is a big leap for a guy who's been an OC for a single season and had a modicum of success in a very bad division.

I don't disagree. But Saints fans are calling for Ms. Benson to fire everybody after going 9-8. Maybe they have a better season to give the fans hope, but maybe they would still be saying "fire everyone" if there's not a significant improvement.
