Taylor is the only Saints draft pick to not yet sign his standard four-year rookie deal, with NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill reporting back in June that there’s been a holdup in negotiations — either in offset language (determining how much the Saints are liable to pay should Taylor be cut and join a new team) and the amount of guaranteed money, specifically in base salaries for future seasons.

Read the article this morning. It was because of where he was picked. He was on the fringe of what's typically a guaranteed 2024 and what is not so both sides were ironing that out.

I don't get into debates about negotiations and how contract works. I don't understand it and just leave it for the people involve. Glad that he signed but I will give him props for showing up for all the OTAs and training camp so far. He did take a risk doing all this without a contract to fall back on. Although a second rounder, he has been topic of debates and scrutinized since the draft. All eyes are on him in a few weeks.
