Anyone have pet insurance? If so i have a few questions

Increasing cost as the pets get older or a flat rate?
What type of plans are out there and what do they cover/not cover?
Diff. costs for a pure breed VS a mutt?
Can i cover a dog/cat for its replacement cost?

I think Allstate offers a good "New Dog Replacement" plan...if you total your puppy they'll just get you another.

No clue on pet insurance. My vet is cheap, great and convenient. I've never even considered pet insurance.

The real reason I posted is that I want a post-Humberto garden update, so could you slip one in?

I'd be interested in hearing anything anyone has on this. Spend more on the dogs than i do on myself, medically speaking.

I forked out $760 bucks to get checkups and new meds for my three mutts.

That frontline stuff works, but dang its expensive.

$305 today not including the cats

EDIT---- worth every penny , just curious

I order all of my dogs medicines online from Austrailia , much cheaper

I adopted a cat almost 3 months ago and I went with the insurance company that the shelter dealt with...

I pay $13.95 a month. The only reason why I got the insurance was because my cat was sick when I adopted her and so I chose the insurance for a "just in case" type of thing.

The insurance covers certain illnesses, accidents, and accidental death.
There is a $75 deductible for illnesses and/or accidents. The Maximum Coverage amounts for each illness/accidental incidents are pretty reasonable.

I just got the paperwork not too long ago so I'm not that much familiar with the coverage. It seems decent though....

The insurance program is called PetCare Insurance. It may just be a local New York State insurance company though.

I have a wellness plan thru Banfield. They operate out of PetsMart. I pay about $20 a month and that covers all his vaccinations, him being neutered, and a discount of meds, all office visits...even if I want a checkup 3 times a week. It's very convenient and they have different plans to meet your needs. They cover cats and dogs. Very quick service too. You also get their frontline/advantage and heartworm medicine at a discount thru the vet (Banfield). Check it out. Here is the link to their website. Hope it helps some of you out. I go to the PetsMart on Vets by Babies-R-Us and I love it over there.

Man how much does the policy pay out for accidental death? I've never heard of pet insurrance it amazes me what can be insured today.
