This was an issue last year, a category in which we led the league in. Just another tendency that I was hoping would have been corrected via self-scouting, but it appears we are still disproportionate, especially when compared to the gold star standard offenses we all like to reference (KC, SF, MIA, PHI).

That's good to know for when we play the Jags and Colts. Second and ten, bring in the NASCAR package.

Predictable 2nd down is leading to predictable 3rd and Longs. Carr has taken 6 of his 13 sacks (including the injury) on 3rd and 7+. Carmichael is going to get him killed if he doesn't figure out how to win on early downs OR balance the 98/2 Pass to run ratio on 3rd and long.

A lot of the stuff we do is so predictable. Even I can predict plays now and then. Imagine a defensive coordinator who has studied every second of film on the Saints.
Imagine a defensive coordinator that has studied the Jags/Commandos/Colts! That's predictable.

I don't think a 60/40 split is really such a bad thing. 3rd and 10 is a punt more often than not.

Obviously having success on 1st down is the real key.

Or maybe we try to convert the 1st on 1st or 2nd down....I don't have data to confirm this, but im thinking that we have to be top of the league in 3rd down conversion attempts right?

Pederson is 100% of the time passing after a 2nd and 10. That is absolutely a tendency.

PC is 1 of the coordinators within 10% of the 50\50 mark. This is a slight skew from median and less a tendency than 2\3rd of the league.

I don't consider that an addiction.

Those gold standard offenses have a solution, avoid incompletions on first down. J/k
Jokes aside is this partly due to play design on first down?

Teams putting an emphasis on easy throws and completions?

And 1st down runs in the red zone.

Dude, you don't get it. You're supposed to find reasons to complain.
