It’s kind of funny cause before the season people were talking about how the Shannhan/Kubiak OL’s had highly rated OT’s and the interior not so much. Can’t believe we lucked out with Patrick since LG was a huge concern prior to the season.

It’s kind of funny cause before the season people were talking about how the Shannhan/Kubiak OL’s had highly rated OT’s and the interior not so much. Can’t believe we lucked out with Patrick since LG was a huge concern prior to the season.

Actually the talk was how Shanahan's OL across the board was never rated as anything special, including the Tackle positions which was why there was reason to be optimistic about Penning in this system.

That said, this OL has much more raw talent than Shanny has so the Saints offense could wind up being the 49ers offense "perfected".

Maybe that’s the secret sauce to this scheme. Have a highly rated center. Gotta be well rounded with enough power and acceleration to get to blocks.
