They just opened a Popeye's Chicken in Roanoke. I have never actually been to a Popeye's...what do I need to know?

They just opened a Popeye's Chicken in Roanoke. I have never actually been to a Popeye's...what do I need to know?

Based on my experience, the Popeye's there will not be the same as Popeye's here in south Louisiana.

Once I was in Greenville, MS and went to their Popeye's. The cashier asked me if I wanted mild or spicy and I said I was from New Orleans and asked if this would be spicy like Popeyes there. His exact reply was "Hell no. This ain't New Orleans spicy....this is Greenville spicy!"

The red beans were flavorless and they gave me a spice packet to put in it

Spicy chicken sandwich or spicy tenders seem to be most popular afaik. I used to get two spicy breasts before they had the sandwich and when you could order individual pieces.

No. If the chicken doesn't have bones, it's not proper Popeye's.

I have heard what Dago said often, they seem to try and change them to target locals. Most people from here would be appalled.

But the chicken samiches are great and I doubt they will mess with those too much. If you like spicy, order a jalapeño with it. Bite then tip off and drizzle the juice on your chicken. And if you order biscuits, you have to have honey. If they tell you they are out of honey, it’s perfectly acceptable to punch people in these establishments. I know that seems odd and would be out of line in most places but just YouTube it if you don’t believe me. You can even get out of your car and climb through the drive thru window to punch someone.
