Barring an incredible run and incredible collapse by the other NFC south teams we aren’t going to the playoffs this year

As it stands now what teams would you like to face off in the Super Bowl?

Mine is the same one I wanted last year

Detroit vs Buffalo

Two long suffering teams, neither one with a title

Buffalo having the early 90s 4 straight losses vs Detroit never having even gone to one

No matter what a city is going to celebrate winning their first ever Super Bowl victory

I think that would be a pretty intriguing storyline

Detroit vs…

KC would make it easy to root against the Chiefs out of fatigue hearing about them, if nothing else.

Buffalo is in the same tier of teams with Detroit for me - if not the Saints, then it would be cool to see them win.

Mostly, I’d really like to see the Lions win a championship, regardless of the opponent. Easy to relate to what that fanbase has been through.

I can surely dig it (y) The Bills haven't won anything since 1964 when they were an AFL team and the Lions haven't won one since 1957. That's before most of us on here were born.

The Lions have a decidedly strong inside track to having home field throughout the playoffs. The Bills on the other hand, will have to battle tooth and nail for home field advantage. A road trip to KC is quite likely. And at this point, we're tired of the Chiefs in the same way many of us got tired of the Patriots in the 2000s and 2010s.

These two teams have almost never been good at the same time, much less two straight years. Interestingly, though, last year wasn't the first time each made the conference title games. It happened in 1991, as Buffalo made and lost their second straight Super Bowl and Detroit lost the NFCCG to Washington.
