Would y'all take a chance on him in the 4th or 5th round?

Saints met with several QBs including Ward (as reported) and also Sanders (I’m not sure it has been reported).

Ugggh, you know that hearing this makes my head explode! McCord, McCord and McCord. Hoping that these are smoke screens.

I don't see the point. Why draft a QB with high upside that needs some development, can make the throws, and lead a huddle when you're just going to say "so and so gives us the best chance to win"? We don't need more of those guys. We have one that could potentially be a decent QB that we won't play except under the worst circumstances, we don't need another one of those guys.

Not a fan of Ewers, Sanders, or Ward. All have high bust potential. Ward’s mechanics are erratic at best. Ewers’ ceiling is probably marginal starter/high end backup (think Nick Foles). Sanders will be a three ring circus. He’s talented but how will he be when his Dad isn’t spotlighting him? Hopefully the Saints are just doing their due diligence interviewing these guys.

Because you never know when one of those guys turns out to be good to great instead of decent. I don't really think that's Ewers, but the idea of taking swings on mid-round QBs is the right idea. But, obviously if they don't think a guy could be better than Rattler you don't take them.

We already have two developmental QBs, why add a third? If you're not taking a QB in the first or second, you're not making a serious investment.

I generally agree with you, I'll need to see that they are willing to play a lesser player to allow them to develop before I'll think it's worth a pick. We have holes EVERYWHERE and haven't made enough picks over the last 5 years to use a pick on a guy who won't see the field at all.

I think Haener has shown he's not it. And as I have said, you have to keep taking shots at mid-round QBs because the cost is relatively low and the benefit of hitting is enormous.

I don't think the Carr move this year means that they won't do that. It just means that they didn't think it made sense financially this year because they wouldn't have any more to add players to improve the team. It's not the way I would have done it, but I don't think it's the sign of some long term commitment to only playing veteran QBs.

I get that we need to draft more players, but one pick on a QB isn't really going to change that. And, frankly, there is no position that we need to upgrade more than QB.

Also, as often as Carr is now getting hurt, there may be plenty playing time for Rattler or another young QB.
