Raiders hiring Saints DC Joe Woods as their defensive pass-game coordinator (8 Viewers)

Why would they do that? Our defense clearly got worse once Wods was calling plays.

But, on the bright side, when I first read the thread title I thought it said "Saints hire Joe Woods and their New DC." I was much happier after I read it correctly.

Edit: Seeing now that the tweet says he would be on staff, makes more sense. I can see him in a position coach role but I don't think he's a good DC.

The one main one I’ve found interesting hasn’t been spoken of about going anywhere is Phil Galiano. He has been talked about as the next great ST coach, maybe Moore will be keeping him on staff

Terrible DC but may well be a good position coach where he doesn’t have as much say.

Good luck to him and good to see a full reset on the coaching staff for us.

That's a bit harsh. He's been middle of the road as a DC. Can't judge him after DA was fired since it wasn't his system and install.

He improved Denver in 2nd year and improved CLE over Wilks.

Either way, is it just me or does the rest of the league love our coaching staff. Because I thought our problem was coaching?

I started thinking to myself, it's not the coaching that's bad...it's the LEADERSHIP. Then Boom, i remember this article and found the subsequent quote

Yes she was with the raiders when Da became HC and says he was not a leader. Does that mean he stopped good coaches from coaching ? I admit DA is not a HC. What I'm saying is maybe the injuries did matter and the rest of the NFL recognizes that, and really hope some of these coaching moves don't turn into the next Zack Baun

Best of luck to him and every coach who has left for other opportunities. It's an exciting time to be a Saints fan, this change will be the most significant since Payton was hired in 2006.
It's a totally new regime, something we asked for when Payton left, and it appears we may be repeating the same steps that brought Payton here by hiring another young offensive mind who's pass-happy and a former QB who, unlike his predecessor,r, had a better college and pro career.
