From the Athletic, I’d be ecstatic with this news but we often struggle against non top tier QB’s.
A snippet:
The Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots and Denver Broncos each have six 2023 games against opponents with Tier 1 quarterbacks.

The Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints have zero games against top-tier QBs.

lots of signs point to this being his last year at michigan, theres only so many NFL jobs open every year and i still think the roster we have will put us toward the top half of the list for destinations coaches would wanna go
I guess I just don’t understand why we would want Jim Harbaugh. I agree that he should want to come here to a team with an established defense…but I’m not aware of any professional ties or circles that he and the Saints are connected.

He was talked about a lot during the last offseason and I never understood the hype. I think he’s overrated and not a great fit for the NFL

Since Carolina doesn't have a game against a top-tier QB, that means Carr isn't in the top-tier category. Understandable. I hope that changes after this season.

he's done well everywhere he's been as far as i can remember and he seems to be a players coach. SF wasn't supposed to be much when he was there and he turned them around pretty quickly and even oakland was good when he was there. When was the last time the raiders were any good? i know he has an attitude but winning makes people forget that, look at how people here are quick to talk about Paytons attitude now that he is gone. i feel like harbaugh is one of those guys you love when he's your coach and loathe when he's not. either way, i see him being one of the top candidates for all franchises if he leaves michigan.

Franchise doesn’t have a good track record with washed-up ex-coaches, though. (Stram and Ditka come to mind)

That said, DA should be on win-or-else status with Gayle this season. Hope she sees things the same way informed fans do.
Stram was nit that bad. He had a decent team

Agreed on the ties, but disagree on him being overrated. I loathe the guy but he’s a winner.

Yeah me too. Right now I think Carr is mid tier middle of the pack.

since this is a pay site, does anybody have the tiers that they are using? is it just high, mid, low, or is there more separation.

either way, I expect Carr to end up in a higher tier than whatever they have him in currently.

He was always able to say he had a losing record in N.O. because Archie struggled with a shoulder injury during his two seasons as coach. A bit like MT’s medical situation the past two years.

Fans of a certain age always said it, too. I was just a toddler when Stram was coach, but they’re probably right.

Carr is 14th overall and 2nd in tier 3 behind Murray.

Four total tiers with Minshew bringing up the rear.
