If they had left Zack Snyder's name off this entirely, I'd be pretty excited for this one. This looks awesome.

But his name is on it, so I imagine the writing will be so bad that no amount of visual stunningness will overcome it.

Still, written and directed by Zach Snyder doesn't inspire confidence. SystemShock already noted the "similarities" from other films/series. I'll certainly let someone else whose opinion I trust watch it first to let me know if I should bother...

One thing about Snyder he makes great trailers. I'm in for the cast alone. You can really tell this was originally pitched as a Star Wars movie. Got to be hard to mess up Seven Samurai in space.

I had started a thread about this movie and mentioned that it sounds like Seven Samurai and Battle Beyond the Stars (starring John Boy)

And I definitely liked Sofia Boutella as Gazelle in Kingsman: The Secret Service

Actually looked really good. Only complaint is they are really getting way too close to lightsabers there. That's going to be hard to get past.

i know this is a trailer and this needle drop probably doesn't appear in the show, but too often needle drops are getting meh (yellowjackets and For All Mankind are prime examples)
i think needle drops (thinking of breaking bad first and foremost) used to be handled by obsessives with stacks of vinyls or whatever
now it sounds like it's a director's or editor's spotify list - more icing than vital story element

also maybe zack snyder just needs to be an mma fighter - that trailer was cooking until the punchfest - if this show is a snyder punchapalooza i'm out
