I remember in 09 calling into his radio show the week of Christmas. The bit was, you had to call in and sing your favorite Christmas song, and you would get his newest book.

After 30 mins of silence he asked, “does nobody want my book?”

So driving the 610, somewhere around Stop Jockin, I called in and sang “Feliz Navidad”. He got a kick out of it (as did my new bride).

When I went to go pick up the book he joined me in singing the song and we talked for a bit.

Dude was a legend.

I loved listening to him, and my wife and I would try the different restaurants around the city and region that he would recommend.

Used to enjoy listening to him and his food show on the radio. He was a bit “quirky” but definitely knew the NOLA food scene.

Sad to hear of his passing.
