Politico is reporting that the Supreme Court has decided to overturn Roe V Wade. The decision won’t be official for a while as they’re writing arguments but it’s going to happen. I’m only reporting this, no political comment.

Yea, we’ve got a thread going on MAP, and frankly, I don’t think there’s any way to have this conversation here.

I’ll understand if it gets deleted. I just think it’s a major event in US History. But you’re right. It’ll be very hard for some to keep it civil.

There's no compassionate reason to force a child to be born to parents that don't want it. Odds are they won't have that memorable of a life even if they ARE wanted.

They'll probably just grow up to drive a Honda and work at a bank.

Births are so overrated. We're just walking, talking sacks of bones and meat.

Oooh, look at us with our kneecaps and fancy thumbs.

You can't wipe your own arse for FIVE YEARS. You may never learn to wipe it properly.

If you had to advertise life to the unborn, what would your selling points be.

Shove a raisin up your nose when you're three? Pick some flowers? Develop allergies and write checks to the IRS each year? Go to a waterpark? Watch your parents die?

Pffft.

Tell us how you really feel.:)

Thanks for the awareness of this potential change. However, I do think this is most definitely a super charged political topic. I'm closing the thread for now, until more staff or Andrus weighs in.

Thank you for understanding.

You did the right thing, for the right reason.

If members want to discuss the topic with other SR members, they can discuss it within the following thread on MAP.

If you haven't already registered there, you will have to do so and I will have to approve the registration in order to post.

Ward is correct in that this is a bombshell issue that is not appropriate for SR. Feel free to go to the MAP discussion here.
