This is how the team rewards practice squad fringe players before the holidays. They sign them to the Active roster for a game or two so they get a nice big check right before Christmas. Many of the higher quality clubs reward their practice squads in a similar way. It is one way to attract UDFA to the team is to show them how the PS players are rewarded.
