I did a thread last week on Bourbons and you guys came through with great suggestions (a few of which I tried). This time around I am asking what type of Rye Whiskey do you prefer. Here is a few on my short list for trying;

Sazarac
Wild Turkey Rye (81 or 101)
George Dickel's Rye
Bulleit Rye
Templeton Rye (I tried a sample...loved it...will buy in the future!)

I recently finished a bottle of rye I bought from a distillery in Virginia, the Copper Fox. It was quite good: OUR PRODUCT

Rittenhouse 100 is a pretty good $20-25 rye.. Bulleit is my favorite -- Dickel was worth drinking.

Wild Turkey and the Jim Beam Rye just tasted too much like the bourbon versions of the same brands

Mixing stuff with whiskey is a sin and those that do it should be ashamed.

I used to think that and I would buy different kinds of rum for rum and cokes. Then it dawned on me that I was buying crap (though I like Sailor Jerry). Why mix a rum that you wouldn't drink by itself when you can mix bourbon that you like neat? Granted, I don't buy expensive bourbon (Buffalo Trace is my favorite) but if I don't like it straight from the bottle I'm not mixing it, I'm pouring it down the drain.
