He will get a couple of games, hopefully no more, but at least both cases are now adjudicated. I would anticipate a decision on suspension by early next week. That would give the Saints opportunity to consider that during the final cuts.

PJ Williams received 2 games for DUI in 2019. Deonte Harty got 3 in 2021. Maye’s looking at 2-3 games range.

Maye will get suspended, as he should be. He should just take the suspension for the likely two games and serve that for games 1 and 2 and then be done with it and not appeal. Kamara will serve his 3 game suspension during weeks, 1, 2 and 3.

If Maye just takes his suspension and serves it right away, without an appeal, he can get it over with at the beginning of the season.

If effect, having two players suspended for week 1 means the Saints have two "extra" roster spots for the beginning of the season. They can carry an extra RB and Safety on the week one roster, who otherwise would have been cut. Suspended players DO NOT count against the 53 man roster.

Goodell's decisions are a capricious crapshoot, so figuring that "so-and-so only got x games," etc. doesn't really work.
