METAIRIE — Of the 54 players on the New Orleans Saints’ roster, 23 have played in one or more playoff games.
The other 31 — pending the upcoming removal of one player to make room for defensive tackle Hollis Thomas’ return to the active roster — have the opportunity to make their post-season debuts when the Saints host Philadelphia on Saturday night in a Divisional playoff game in the Superdome.
The playoff veterans have tried to prepare the playoff rookies for what they can expect when the post-season begins for New Orleans.
“The games speed up a little bit more just because the stakes are a little bit higher,” said Thomas, who played in six playoff games with Philadelphia.
