Pretty much with some carryover into 2027 before being clear of the real big contracts and I'm sure they'll be some new ones to adjust come then.So same time same place next year right?

In theory you can keep all that cap space and take it with you into next year. I do think that they have some moves planned, but they do likely need $5 to $6 million of whatever they have for their draft class. But I also suspect they will get more space from Cam and Hill taking pay cuts.
I suspect they are looking at Samuel, Jr., Becton, and a Safety. Nick Said in addition to CB and a Guard, they want to bring MVS back, but both the team and MVS are waiting to see what kind of contract he is offered.
Taysom is a player that pulling the raw numbers and comparing them to a position isn't an accurate reflection of his impact and contributions. He's somewhat of an anomaly as is his contract. It's inflated and has been a headscratcher from the start because it was sort of between a starting and backup QB so I somewhat agree when you start comparing it to a RB or TE position. But the difference is the multi-use and impact he has on the game and scoring or moving the chains. It wasn't just a cute, gimicky thing, he heavily influenced our success or lack of success depending if he is in the game or not.
I understand all of that fully...but as you stated he is & has been overpaid.Taysom is a player that pulling the raw numbers and comparing them to a position isn't an accurate reflection of his impact and contributions. When he and McCoy left the lineup due to injuries the offense went from phenomenal to pedestrian in a flash. In his paltry 465 yards of offense were six TDs and countless first downs gained to continue drives. When we broke the huddle and Taysom dropped back to QB, the defense was at an extreme disadvantage. Yes, he's overpaid, but that contract was made during Payton's tenure. Taysom has delivered back way better than I thought he ever could.
Need two guards, truth be told.Does this restructure of Ruiz enable a trade or does it ensure he stays on the roster?
I know he's young, but many he just doesn't play physical at a physical position.
And just like that to dead money at some point:
He has improved from his rookie season but we still could use an upgrade there. Big time.Ruiz is automatically a Saint the next two years because he has a terrible team contract.
As an inconsistent vet drafted in the first round years ago, he carried an unfathomable dead cap of $20M in 2024.
Now that his contract has been restructured, he carries a 22M dead cap in 2025 and $17M in 2026 - with 0 cap savings for cutting him post-June 1.
It's not until 2027 that his contract normalizes, in cap, dead cap, and cap savings if released post-June 1.

Kellen, figure this guy out.... his position, the guys next to him, etc.. I believe he has a higher talent ceiling than we've seen.
I have the year 2009 waiting on the call lineWe the New Orleans Saints.... It never works for us when it comes to secondaries. Lol
I don't accept calls from prison.I have the year 2009 waiting on the call line
Last season was the first time Taysom missed more than 5 games as a Saint. He missed exactly 5 in 2021. One each in 2022-23.All the ones he didn't play in?
Taysom is a great guy and a great player on the field, but his injuries are adding up every year. In order to have him for most of the season they are going to have to severely limit his touches. Which means he is going to have to take a pay cut. And, honestly, with the number of injuries he has had, Hill may want to retire soon to save his health for his family.
Good thing nobody’s calling from there!I don't accept calls from prison.
Who else have the base treated poorly in your opinionNo, the base has changed drastically.
Nothing yet and hopefully nothing at all.what happens to hill and cam? i think they are casualties
Everybody associated with the Saints who gets any kind of headline at all, at this point.Who else have the base treated poorly in your opinion
I can see that but do you really feel the bad outweighs the goodEverybody associated with the Saints who gets any kind of headline at all, at this point.
Dante Pettis was just re-signed. He’s a kick teams guy and something like WR6 on the depth chart. I thought he did okay when called on, and was certainly not a negative contributor to the team when called on by dropping passes that turned into INTs or fumbling trying to get extra yards or whatever… but people are being jerks about him being brought back. They’re crying for MVS to be re-signed instead (although they do two different things in the offense) but when MVS was first signed, they were jerks about bringing him in, too. It’s like lots of fans have an “I hate everything, prove me wrong” mindset about the team and it’s made the things about sharing fanhood way less fun. I was surprised when people left their harsh opinions about the on-field product out of their comments when the young man who worked as an a/v tech for the Superdome was announced as one of the victims in the January 1 French Quarter attack. Surprise should not be my reaction to people being decent humans.
The team posts happy birthday for a player or coach, and it’s “CUT THIS BUM I DON’T WANT HIM” instead of just saying nothing at all or just being kind for someone’s frickin birthday. It’s subhuman depravity that will nonetheless be defended with statements like “let me be a fan how I want” which, again, makes fanhood as a shared experience something I want to do less.
