Ohio State’s Sam Hubbard is a player likely to be available when the Saints pick at 27. And he’d be an excellent fit.
Today Who Dat Dish continues our analysis of some of the top EDGE defenders available in the 2018 NFL Draft. It’s one of the needs for the Saints along with a tight end, linebacker, wide receiver and possibly a quarterback. We’ve already taken a look at Harold Landry, Marcus Davenport, Arden Key and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. Now for the one who may be the sweet spot for the Saints: Ohio State’s Sam Hubbard.
First, the obvious. Sam Hubbard meets two needs for the Saints. He’s a solid, pass rushing defensive end. And he’s from Ohio State. What would a modern Saints draft be without a Buckeye?
Hubbard has been mocked to the Saints quite a number of times this offseason and, as noted, he’s in the sweet spot. The sweet spot being available, most likely, at pick 27 and not being a reach. He was a five star football recruit out of Moeller High School in Cincinnati and also had a scholarship offer from Notre Dame to play lacrosse...
