Saints GM Mickey Loomis Media Availability’s Live Updates, January 13, 2025 (21 Viewers)

That was much better than last year. There was a little more humility in there. While he didn't throw himself under the bus he did admit to maybe not doing everything that was needed for the team to be successful over the last few years. He's a bit stubborn when it comes to his perception of the current state of the team, but I think it's natural to be at least a little defensive.

Yes it was. Last year he sounded very arrogant.

I hear it.

My conclusion is that Mickey says they are going to continue in the same path, and don't see any problem doing so.

So frustrating to hear low-ball questions. The results since Drew left speak about the reality of the organization, and nothing changes around.

No accountability.

Yep, the biggest takeaway for me is that the front office remains "as is" and nobody feels the need to change course.

It takes a leader (Mrs. Benson) to others accountable if they wont hold themselves accountable. If you have a room full of yes-men you are headed toward a disaster. I am not saying that's the situation but, possibly. Self evaluation is always hard, and being honest with yourself and personally I think we should ALL do that once a year for ourselves, it makes you a better person.

It was a press conference, not an argument or a debate. I was not expecting a confrontation in this setting.

I'm not really hearing that. This sounds a lot different than last year's presser. I think the Allen firing and all the stuff that happened this season humbled him a bit and at least seemed willing to admit they needed to make some changes.

I wanted Loomis promoted and a new GM, but that never was a realistic expectation this season. That said, he seemed willing to make the necessary changes to try and improve the organization. It was a good session.

Now we will see if those tweaks and changes are effective, and it's going to be largely determined by the head coach choice.

the best question was from a reporter that said, Sean used to say that you two were a good combination because he was too impatient and you were too patient, considering we've been losing and went 5-12 is it time to be less patient? This could've been a good chance to make a definitive statement, to motivate the fan base. Instead he sort of swatted it away with "im still patient...."

People hear what they want to hear.
