Saints head coach Kellen Moore’s offenses finished Top 10 in 5 of 6 seasons as OC (20 Viewers)

I really like that Moore is willing to speed up the tempo at times. We never did that with DA mostly because I think he wanted the D to get rest, but I think speeding up the tempo from time to time keeps the D off balance and can wear their D down. And often times teams move the ball when the change the pace which ends up getting the D more time to rest than a 3 and out while running some clock.

He's always been a very intelligent offensive coordinator. It's hard to imagine how he's going to fail as Head Coach. Even if the defense doesn't do well at all, if the offense is constantly top 10, then we'll be in competition for division and playoffs which will by him the time to figure out the defense. The biggest question mark is finding himself a franchise QB. I don't believe its on the roster, but I do believe Carr will serve as a bridge. I suspect we'll take a QB either this draft or try for Nuss (assuming the Nuss QB coach becomes OC here) next year. Likewise, I have a suspicion that whatever QB we draft, will sit for a year behind Carr.

Pace during a neutral game situation, assuming they are using the FTN definition of a neutral situation.

Can't say I didn't learn something new today. Reminds me a bit of the success rate metric for football plays.

EDIT: I didn't understand initially that "neutral pace" referred to the time to get plays in and the ball snapped. First blush -- I though it meant how often a team was within a score (or two in the 1st half) of an opponent. Kind of an "avoiding blowouts" metric. But no.

This puts you in the mindset of CSP where he got the most out of the talent he has because of his schematics.

Putting players in position to produce as opposed to needed talented players to make you look good, so until we get more talent we should be able to at least move the ball consistently because of schematics and again with Olave, Shaheed, Kamara and whatever talent we add (health not withstanding) we should be able to be productive in his first season as HC.

Being a Michigan Fan its like going from John Beilein to Dusty May.

The talent is not coming with him. Someone needs to compare those offensive rosters with ours. I support the hire, but I don't see too much making lemon into lemonade. Dak is the closest example.
