Saints met with top QB prospect Cam Ward [Schefter: CLE, NYG or maybe Saints have to make an offer compelling enough for #1 pick]

They've swung on Marcus Davenport. Traded up a future first for Mark Ingram. It's just wild to me that people are skittish on the team not wanting to address the most important the position in all of sports (especially when their recent drafts / picks have been dreadful).
It's stupid. We don't need a QB in this draft. We have other needs

This.

If you’ve got the QB, you can figure out everything else.

I’m not advocating trading up for *any* QB. But if you love a guy, go get him and figure out the rest later.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but if we give up next season's 1st and then 2027's 1st/high rd picks that could set us back even further if he doesn't pan out.

I think the Saints will try to trade up to get him but also think the Titans will probably rebuff it because either a) they'll just draft Ward himself or b) they do not want to drop down so low to miss out on Carter or Hunter.
Titans fans want Ward. If Tennessee trades out they're going to be livid.

So we shouldn’t even try to fix the QB issue? Not trying to get a legit young franchise QB is what has already set us back more than 5 years.

I’m a fan of the Canes and of Cam. He’s got it, whatever it is. I’ve been trying to think of a good comp for him tho. Sometimes he would point directly at where they were going to run the ball as if to say ‘here it comes and you can’t stop us’. Definitely a leader, teammates loved him.
🥱

They made the trade for Davenport because SP thought that was the missing piece. We are nowhere near 1or 3 players away from the SB.
