The Saints have the following power rankings after week 1.

#16. CBS (Up 3)
#15. ESPN (Up 4)
#14. NFL.COM (Up 2)
#13. BLEACHER RPT. (Up 5)
#12. USA TODAY (Down 2)

The average power ranking of the five for the Saints is #14 with an average rise of 3 spots.

It seems a bit odd that USA TODAY dropped the Saints 2 spots after a win. The only thing that makes sense there is the low amount of points scored by the Saints in their win.

16 teams Won and 16 teams Lost in week 1. Logic says after a small sample size of games played to this point being only 1, all of the 16 winners may not be better than those 16 that lost in week 1. It also could be said that some of the 16 teams that won are not better than the other teams that won.

I would concede that teams that lost in week 1 such as the Chiefs, the Bengals, the Bills, the Vikings, and the Chargers may be better than some of the teams that won.

However, I also believe that some teams that won in week 1 such as the Raiders, the Commanders, the Bucs, the Clowns, and the Browns may not be as good as the other teams that won in week 1.

With that being said I agree with where the Saints are ranked for now. A win this week against the Panthers may not move the needle much but getting it and a win on the road against the Packers the following week, starting the year out 3-0 with back to back road wins, would definitely move them into top 10
consideration.

Lions might be tougher. Don't sleep on them.
Yea, Titans are certainly not near the toughest test on our schedule.

Detroit is much better

GB looks better or at least still a tough opponent and we get them in a tough environment

Huge coaching mismatch with NE so I expect that to be another dogfight

Matchup with Atlanta may even be tougher than it was for us to match with Tennessee.

Jacksonville is much better than Tennessee

So yea….no to Tennessee being even close to our toughest opponent

My boys are convinced the Jags are the toughest. Detroit has what it takes to beat the Saints, but not as much as what the Titans had. Anzalone is like a God in Detroit.
