Saints reporters think Lynn Bowden Jr. could pick up some of Taysom’s touches vs Panthers (1 Viewer)

Hill being out is a huge loss. He is one of our very few cheat codes on offense.
Our offense is better on just about every metric when he is on the field, he will definitely be missed. Our run game averaged 3.0/att the last time we played Carolina if you leave out Hill (who averaged 8.3/att that same game).

The fact that Lynn Bowden Jr even has a thread on gameday about him getting touches pretty much sums up how complete a foul-up this year has been for us.

With Hill out if Bowden can make some successful runs from the Power QB like he did against Louisville, then that would be great.

Half of the skill players are injured. Bowden’s no bum. If Pete utilized his versatility early on instead of having him strictly block, it wouldn’t seem unordinary to see him discussed. Thats on the OC’s lack of creativity.

While I would never call any NFL player a "bum" as the amount of talent it takes just to make it there is astounding, you do realize that prior to this year his last NFL touch came in 2020? Where he averaged 7.5 yards per reception and 3.6 yards per carry?

This is a Saints board, where any topic is worthy of discussion. I'm not claiming Bowden may not do great things out there today - I hope he does! - but the mere possibility that the Saints have to use him to replace our most dynamic playmaker is a depressing thought. But that's just where we are right now.

With how PC watched Shaheed score on his very first 2 NFL touches and still took forever to at least get him looks and targets this seems pretty spot on lol. One can argue we still don’t utilize Shaheed enough to this very day based on his skill set and what he does.

Well, at least he caught a pass.
4 catches, one was a 15 yarder to inside the 10 on the last TD drive. I wish he would’ve got some carries but Kamara and Williams both did really well on the ground (99 yds on 22 cars combined). They still weren’t utilized enough on shorter downs that we should’ve ran on.
