Saints request to interview Aaron Glenn [Interview scheduled for Friday, January 10th] (5 Viewers)

Don't all the coaches involved in playoff runs have to wait a certain period before interviewing anywhere else? Or has this changed?

Of all the defensive guys on our list, he's the one I wouldn't mind seeing here. Hiring him means the best OC out there is the one we already have in the job. And so that could mean "running it back" with the same blocking schemes and such on offense -- but hoping beyond hope better luck with injuries.

Detroit is on a bye, so their candidates have a week to job hunt.

Really hope we pass on Glenn, I would like to see a whole new different approach to the future of the team. Glenn (who is a fine coach) isn't what we need. We need someone who is new to the organization and won't be afraid to voice his opinion on things.

Nothing against Glenn personally or professionally ( as he has proven he can produce as a position coach and a coordinator. If he does get the job I hope he gets rid of Joe Woods and hires a new coordinator,we don't need another HC that also doubles as our d coordinator.

We will see, whoever it is I will support but I would rather have a offensive minded HC. I would rather have Rizzi than Glenn.

There seem to be designated time periods when the coaches on playoff teams still in contention can give a virtual interview.

If Glenn is a "fine" coach...that's where the conversation should end. You don't pass on good coaches. There aren't many of them at HC to be nitpicky.

I don’t understand what you are saying. How do you know that Glen would be afraid to express his own opinion? You don’t think he has is own thoughts/ideas on scheme and personnel? If he doesn’t, we shouldn’t interview him.

This team needs Jon Gruden. He is the closest to Sean Payton out there and will demand excellence, knows the x and o’s, and has an ego to him. These other candidates will be first time head coaches and will be yes men to Loomis.
