Don't forget context - the Offense has looked good on two days full of RZ work, second of which was not in pads. That heavily tilts the odds in favour of O effectiveness.
Similarly, the day the Saints did lots and lots of third down work, the D had things in their favour and looked like the 'winners' by a wide margin that day.
I've been reading John Hendrix's (SI) play by play breakdowns for all the sessions for each day of training camp day to try and get a feel where the team is as a whole. From what i gather, there's a ton of short runs getting blown up in the backfield to start drives. The defense seems way ahead at this point. The offense does shine in 2 min drills when they are throwing more. But they still have work to do in short yardage runs, imoAlso, we also need to keep in mind that a lot of key defensive starters are currently out.
