A friend of mine sent me a picture of me at the Saints/Panthers game in 1995 (they played at Clemson stadium that first season.) Anyway, the biggest thing I remember from that day was that the fans were arrogant, hateful, and not very hospitable. It was irritating because the NFL had gone overboard to ensure that the Panthers and Jaguars were very competitive their first season...and those Panthers fans just assumed it was because they had it all figured out. I believe that both the Jags and Panthers made the championship game their first or second season (as opposed to the Saints being thrown to the wolves.) In the picture I was wearing a Jim Everett jersey...and I was pretty sure he tossed 3-4 INTs that day. It was one of the most miserable 'away' games I have ever experienced. I do remember telling their 'in-your-face' fans to enjoy it because it wouldn't last and to, "give it time." This prompted me to go back and look up the stats from that day and I was correct, Everett did indeed throw 4 picks. But the stat line was pretty staggering. Saints lost badly 20-3. Just goes to show you what happens when you lose the turnover battle...by a large margin:
