how does colston not get a start in the Pro-Bowl?

politics... that's all

he wasn't invited!........unfortunately....

Rookies HISTORICALLY have had a hard time getting into the Pro Bowl. Are you new to this or something?

he was injured and missed a couple games.. didn't do well in the dallas game.
and its a popularity contest for sure.

granted even he contributed to the drops today, but he made some spectacular catches.

yea its to bad for Marques, hes not the only one though, a offense that leads the NFL, we are missing a few, unfortunly we need to keep on winning and the respect will come gooo saintss take the cats down

It would be a slight if he doesnt win OROY, but there are other Vet Receivers with better numbers in the NFC. The Pro-Bowl also tends to be about the previous year more often then not. Unless of course someones performance just blow them all away like Brees.

Colston is only 6th in receiving Yards in the NFC
Colston is only 8th in receiving TDs in the NFC
Colston is only 11th in Receptions in the NFC

Those are OROY numbers for sure but not Pro-Bowl numbers for a rookie.

funny how did Romo got in the probowl.... He isnt in the top 10 in passing yards, he is 9 in passing TDs, the only thing he is #1 in is rating, which you really cant take into consideration seeing as he hasn't played as many games as the other top QBs in the NFC have.... less statistics to average gives him an advantage.

As for Romo:

- There is far less QB competition for the 3 slots. Only 16 starters a week as opposed to 36 WRs which will have significant playing time each week in the NFC. Just the raw statistical probabilities suggest much less is required to make it into the Pro Bowl as a QB as compared to a WR
- Injuries to other players and starter changes throughout he year diluted the competition at that position. Those out of consideration (McNabb, Warner, Bledsoe, Simms, Brunell, Johnson)
- Statistical Inconsistencies amoungst those eligible
- Grossman and Manning tied for 2nd in TDs yet passer ratings below 80
- Vick 4th in TDs yet completion % is hovering around 50%
- Kitna was 3rd in passing yards but did not have many wins
- Favre only 8th in TDs one ahead of Romo, but maybe some felt he shouldnt be considered based on his on again off again retirement.
- Voting is 1/3rd fans (lots of Cowboy fans)
